HAHA I was thinking the exact same thing, how many noobs will still call what they make Hardstyle after the fact that they do not like to be classified as Hardstyle producers.
They're clearly doing a Kamui. Maybe they'll invent their own genre name as well.

That's not Hardstyle anymore.
Never liked them much, because I think they're arrogant idiots, but this brings more and more people into the Hardstyle Scene. Can't see a point, where this is any good. :x

Expect a flood of noobs soon because now the numbers of OMGZ SHOWTEKZ kids are gonna grow massively.
We should just assassinate Sjoerd. Maybe then we can get some quality Walt stuff again.
Makes sense to me at least.

It just appears that they don't want to make Hardstyle anymore, and want to follow this new found happy crossover sound they have going. It's exactly what Kamui did in their progression into their own unique but cheesy sound.

And just like David Guetta (who I never liked) and Tiesto, they "betrayed" a large part of their former fan-base to do so. I guess this is just something we have to accept now dance music is becoming more and more popular and it's not just a "Dutch" thing anymore.
If you look at today's pop-music, lots of the tracks have been infused with some kind of dancey influence, even the records by typical American pop-stars(Rihanna, Britney Spears, etc) contain a dancey vibe. For example; when Britney just started out her songs used to contain far more Hip-Hop / RnB like influences, today she uses dancey influences instead. It looks like America has become more tolerant to dance music.
I guess "real" (European) dance music producers have also noticed this, and some of them see this as their big opportunity to make a break-through in the States. Because Americans still aren't ready for the full package the artists need to commercialize their sound, by using influences from other popular genre's in the US (Rock, Hip-Hop, RnB, etc.)
The result? good artists gone bad, making nothing but cheesy music and leaving thousands of used-to-be fans behind them without seemingly giving a crap about it.
Tiesto is the perfect example to this, his album "Elements of Life" from 2007, was a very good album, even in case you did not like it musically, you can't deny that it was produced very, very well.
His latest album sounds like a piece of shit held together with duck-tape, collaborations with the most annoying pop artists, that in most cases simply don't work. All the tracks are very poorly produced because the main-stream teenage American pop music listeners doesn't give a flying crap about it anyway. All they want is to is to be able to sign-a-long to some not-to-hard-to-understand vocals tipped off with some cheesy melody.
Showtek is doing the exact same thing, and they know it, and have all the rights to do so if they want to.
I just hope this won't reflect on the rest of the hardstyle scene too much.

You forget who DJ Duro is .. lol
I haven't enjoyed Showtek for a while. They have made good tracks in the past, and I'll always love them, that's enough for me..

So maybe their older sound will stick around in that regard.

Massive egos. They seem to think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. It seems as though they've already had their moment as far as hardstyle is concerned...
I'm going to see them this Saturday, I have a feeling it will be the first and last time.
