Can't really look past Fusion of Sound.

Really liked Crypsis's album too.

Acti's is the worst IMO :P I think I'd prefer to listen to the P1 album.

Acti album.

Or the first Showtek one, Today is Tomorrow. Zany in at third. The rest aren't worth judging.

You don't think the Julien DJ and Davide Sonar album is worth judging? I thought you liked old Italian HS...

First Showtek fails at being an album

It's just a bunch of track on a CD.

that's all an album has to be. not everything is a concept album or cohesive work of art. with dance music i certainly don't give a shit if i'm taken on a journey with an album or not, that's what DJs are for :P

If it's just a collection of tracks then they should just release them normally IMO rather than as an album. To me an album needs to have flow, not every track needs to be huge, but the album should be enjoyable to listen to from start to end.

i only have a few albums that i feel that way about (by bands), and i have a lot of albums. sure it's nice when it all flows and stuff and none of it sucks, but for me at least, usually there's only a few great tracks on an album and the rest i won't bother listening to at all after the first couple of attempts.

I haven't heard it, but that I wasn't really interested in that kind of Italian. That's more Kasper's realm.

I don't really mean that every track needs to be good/great - Zany's album has filler tracks that are boring if you listen to them on their own, but they work as part of the album. I guess to me it's more just about the album sounding like an album (ie. it was written to be listened to from start to finish) rather than a collection of tracks. This is why I generally hate 'best of' albums.

I own quite a few hardstyle albums (on both vinyl and cd) but for me its either between the 2nd TG album, zany album and first showtek.
Though in the end probably Banging Sounds Vol 2 wins.
Hmm after a quick think, here's a list of the albums I own:
Trance Generators - Banging Sounds Volume 1 (cd & vinyl)
Trance Generators - Banging Sounds Volume 2 (cd)
Crypsis - Statement of Intent (cd)
Showtek - Today Is Tomorrow (cd)
Julian DJ & Davide Sonar - Techno Noises (cd)
Zany - Fusion of Sound (cd)
Activator - Authentic Style (cd)
Derb - Derbattack (cd & vinyl(
ASYS - Acid Save Your Soul (cd)
Scot Project - A1 (cd)

I still wanna get the ASYS and Scot Project ones on vinyl and the Julian DJ one on cd.

Also if anyone is interested I can get the Zany album for $15 through work, and the second showtek one for about the same...
there's not a problem i can't fix, cos i can do it in the mix...
